Stardust Makeup Look – Glitter Eyeliner

When I was little, everyone was terrified about wearing glitter or any shiny particle, eyeshadow on their eyes. Nowadays, glitter on eyes is a big trend, if you know how to wear it. It is not very easy to achieve a wearable look, especially if you are more like a natural lady. I wasn’t myself a fan of glitter or shiny eye shadow. But I found myself swatching some, and quite like it! One of my favorite way to use glitter is as an eyeliner. Glitter can be difficult to apply on eye, especially if it is powder. You need a sticky base to apply it. In my┬áStardust Makeup Look – Glitter Eyeliner post, you will how glitter can look wearable and sophisticated.

How much glitter?

If you want to do a wearable glitter look, I recommend you to use glitter with moderation. I know that it looks amazing on eyes or even on cheeks, but it can also be a little too obvious for a day by day look. If you don’t want to achieve a halloween or party look, glitter should be just a touch on your whole makeup look.

I am a huge fan of glitter eyeliners. My favorite ones are Heavy Metal from Urban Decay. You don’t need a sticky base from them, they have various colors and very resistant, even if they are not waterproof. I like to use them alone, as a subtle eyeliner, or on a black or colored liner, for a special effect. You should definitely try them!

For my look I’ve used a black eyeliner as a base, I sprayed some All Nighter Setting Spray from Urban Decay on a flat brush , took a small quantity of Diamond powder glitter from Make Up For Ever and gently applied on my black eyeliner. This technique is very simple and the result is beautiful. You can use this technique if you don’t have a sticky base for glitter.
